if there is a role in the script for a kid or teen then they will cast for it.
you can’t audition for a role that’s not there. that’s not how it works. there
will only be auditions for a teen or kid when a teen or kid character is written into the script, and they need one.

Most soaps have a small number of very young actors. It all depends on your ability to show them how much THEY need YOU!. Not the other way around. Don’t be cocky, but definitely be confident. How old are you? I would look toward soaps that have babies or young children that may need to go through some aging here soon. It won’t hurt. If you have the talent, you will be amazed at what you will be blessed with. Just be careful out there. I wish you all the best.

Soaps work under brutal hours and tight schedules. The union rules for kids are limiting and for that reason most soaps try to limit the use of actual kids and teens preferring adults who can “pass” in order to work the full grueling schedules required.

There aren’t many teens on soap operas – they are usually people in their early 20s who look like they could pass for 15 or 16. But there are exceptions. Sarah Michelle Gellar started on All My Children when she was 16 years old and Hayden Panettiere started on One Life to Live when she was 4 (but her mother was also a soap opera actress and knew the casting director)

Soaps Have Kids And Teens In Them 2. Most Of The Main Characters Have Kids…So They Will Proabably Cast Some Kids Or Teens,And It Also Depends On What Soap You Audition For…If The Story line has kids or if they need kids…they will probably hire you. (:
