Requesting Parenting Tips?

Kati asked:

I’m pregnant with my first child (a girl), while I have some “rules” and ways of raising I’m looking for others too. I’m open to anything, so even if you think it may be outrageous I’d like to hear your idea’s. Your personal experiences could be helpful too, so if you’d like to share those too that would be wonderful.
I know not to let others influence the way I raise my daughter, I’m just looking for some “helpful” tips. And personal experiences. I.E. When did you start “teaching” your child to read, what do you allow your child to have or not have? Certain things to avoid? Anything I can expect? As far as the sleeping through the night thing, I’ve prepared myself for both. My mother says that I slept through the night, while my brothers and sisters were up all night. But seriously if you have any tips and or experiences please do share. I’m a little apprehensive about giving birth, tips on that would be great too. As well as pregnancy tips. I’m 28 weeks today!!! Yay!!!

What are some tips to get a 13 y.o. boy more interested in schoolwork?

Bella asked:

I’ve tried making it fun, tried helping him, tried homework club at school but his interest is very low, resulting in poor grades. I don’t understand, I thought kids loved to learn? I did when I was in school and I can’t sympathize with someone not wanting to learn. Parents, any tips?

Why were kids/teens in the olden days forced to eat food?

21st century luvr 4 lyfe asked:

like my dad tells me when he was a kid in the 1970s and my sister was a kid in the 1990s and grandparents in the 1950s

they wlays say how that when they were kids/teens they had to eat 3 meals a day (ugh breakfast included) and had to eat it every single bit, this included at home and at school!

so how come had to eat, what of they weren’t hungry?
